We support you in whatever identities and sexual practices you hold.

We understand that misconceptions about you abound, even in the therapeutic community. As such, we want you to clearly know that we celebrate your right to participate in and claim whatever sexual practices and identities bring you closest to your authentic self.

At Whole Valley Therapy, you’ll be welcomed and well cared for. What does this mean?

  • We will not pathologize you or your behaviors. We recognize that kink/BDSM/polyam can be healthy ways of embodying sexual experience and relationship. We also take joy in the fact that individuals, relationships and families come in lot of configurations (and that none are better or worse than another!).

  • We will not assume that your life challenges are related to, or are a symptom of, your relationship structure or sexual practices. In fact, we believe your identities, relationships and sexual experiences can often be among your greatest resources to help you through whatever struggles you are facing.

  • We acknowledge and appreciate the strengths and work of the polyam/kink communities. Members of the polyam and/or kink communities have done considerable labor translating important topics that are hardly touched by dominant society into easy to understand concepts. Regardless of our identities or practices, we all benefit from honest dialogue on boundary setting, consent and power.

It is a privilege to witness the ways different parts of ourselves come alive in the presence of different people or practices.

Whether you’re looking for help negotiating the terms of your partnerships, learning to identify your needs or set boundaries, working through trauma (from within or outside the community) or simply managing life transitions, we can help.

You deserve competent, affirming care.

While everyone on our team is kink aware and polyam affirming, we also have clinicians with extensive training and experience in supporting folks in the polyam/kink communities on staff. If you’re looking for a safe place to be seen, do your deep work, and get support please don’t hesitate to reach out.
