Therapy can look many ways. At times, we may explore connections between past and present, learn coping skills, and discover our future hopes. Other times, we may practice sitting with our emotions, explore the discomfort of our vulnerability, or realize the joy in receiving authentic support. Whatever therapy looks like for you, it’s done in the containment of a safe, warm and loving connection.

My approach focuses on dismantling the oppressive structures we have internalized in order to access our authentic, true selves. While therapy is always flexible and individualized to your experience, I love the way our work is universally driven by our larger, existential concerns: Who am I and who do I want to be? What do I want my connections with others to look like? How do I stay true to myself and honor those I care about? Asking big questions allows us to challenge ourselves, and ultimately, to grow in the ways we need.

I enjoy working with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and identities. I bring special insight, training and experience to the following topics and/or communities:

  • LGBTQIA+ adults

  • Gender affirming care

  • People of color

  • Immigrant experiences

  • Neurodivergent individuals, especially young adults ages 18-30

  • Disability and chronic illness

  • Grief and loss

  • Therapy for therapists

  • AAPI identity

  • Multiracial/multicultural challenges

  • Trauma/EMDR

  • Caregiver support

Education: In 2019, I received my Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Seattle University. I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Washington in 2014. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I have completed my basic EMDR training through EMDRIA and participate in ongoing consultation.

Background: Throughout my career, I’ve focused on meeting the needs of people who are often overlooked in our healthcare system. In addition to providing ongoing therapy to individuals in community mental health settings, I have worked extensively with older adults and the developmental and intellectual disability communities. Much of my work and clinical interest centers on the intersectionality of identity, especially as it relates to ethnicity, gender, ability, and sexuality.

Beyond Therapy: If I’m not working, I’m probably enjoying the great outdoors, whether that’s hiking, running, or camping. I also love playing and cuddling with my fur babies (one cat and two dogs) and especially enjoy exploring new dog parks. One of my favorite things to do is learn about other cultures/backgrounds through various artistic outlets (movies, galleries, music, etc.) and then discuss them with friends and family members. I proudly refer to myself as a nerd, and highly enjoy playing video games, building gundam models, and reading manga.
